“John answered all of them by saying, ‘I baptize you with water; but one who is more powerful than I is coming; I am not worthy to untie the thong of his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire’” (Luke 3:16.
“Then [God] said [to Moses], ‘Come no closer! Remove the sandals from your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground’” (Exodus 3:5).
On Sunday, December 16, 2018, I preached at All Saints Episcopal Church in Wolfeboro, NH. The congregation has connected with the NH Council of Churches through their support of the ecumenical chaplaincy to the Women’s Prison, refugee support, stewardship of creation and Voices of Faith. Their collection on Christmas Eve will be a donation to the NH Council of Churches!
